Electric Flame 1

Technical Overview:

The EF1 is a wall-socket powered, three-component Tesla coil that generates large, complex patterns of brightly glowing electrical plasma. Using the faders of a standard lighting console, the user can vary the plasma length, brightness, fractal coefficient, loudness and repetition rate to create stunning interactions between air and high voltage electricity. Maximum spark is 1.0” diameter, 45” long and it’s musical; sending audio to the system creates a “violet cloud” of small sparks that perfectly reproduce the melody. Remarkably, even as it produces such an impressive display, the electrical shock hazard is extremely low due to several operating parameters, most importantly the EF1’s unusually high operating frequency.
